Kent Gardens Elementary School’s “Annual Giving” Fundraiser 

Our 2025-2026 Goal: Raise $45,000 by September 30th

All money raised by the PTA goes to improving and enhancing our school, as well as supporting its fabulous teachers and faculty. Whether that’s by funding school-wide events, or purchasing supplies and equipment, every dollar we raise goes right back to Kent Gardens.

 

Over the past few years, an average of 40% of Kent Gardens families have contributed. Please help us achieve at least 50% family participation!

WHAT IS KG PRIDE FUND?

The Annual Giving fundraising campaign is the main fundraiser at Kent Gardens Elementary. Contributions given to the KG Pride Fund are a convenient way for families to support the school and our kids’ education by meeting the fundraising goal early in the year. The PTA uses these funds to help with programming, to off-set administrative costs, and to support teachers and staff.  With a successful campaign, the PTA is able to reduce other fundraising efforts and you help KG remain exciting, vibrant, and thriving each year!

HOW ARE KG PRIDE FUNDS USED?

Through your generous support, we are able to provide each teacher with an allowance at the beginning of the school year.  These funds help purchase new books, supplies and other necessities for the classroom.

2024-2025: The PTA replaced cafeteria tables, replaced picnic tables, enhanced Teacher Appreciation Week with daily meals, gave the Courtyard a much needed beautification, provided a parent coach speaker during the evening PTA meeting, and purchased computer adapters and other technology supplies.

2023-2024: The PTA purchased solar eclipse glasses for the entire school to safely witness this celestial event, replaced every cafeteria table, replaced some picnic tables, and purchased much needed wardrobes for teachers in need.

2022: The PTA purchased ukuleles and risers for the music program, rolling carts for Gym, class t-shirts for the entire school, technology equipment for the new portable classrooms. We continue to support International Night, Literacy Night, and Steam Night. 

In 2021, we supported our school in a variety of ways:  We supported the library and purchased “Book Return” carts for each classroom, we purchased tents which provided much needed shade during our Field Day and 6th Grade Celebration events, and we were able to replace each water fountain in the school with a water bottle filling station, increasing the number of filling stations throughout the school.

We also supported the teachers with meals and events throughout the year and began purchasing items that will help freshen up the Staff Lounge.

In 2020, we helped give teachers the tools they needed to teach virtually.  We raised money to purchase online subscriptions to enhance your student’s learning, offer professional development for staff and state-of-the-art educational materials for classrooms.  

In 2019, we installed water bottle filling stations in high traffic areas in the school and provided additional picnic tables to facilitate outdoor learning In 2018, the PTA renovated and expanded the school playground and built and paved the NEW running track. In 2017, we purchased new laptops for all 5th graders.  We also hope to continue to

WHAT PERCENTAGE OF FAMILIES CONTRIBUTED LAST YEAR?

An average of 40% of Kent Gardens families have contributed to “One & Done” in the past few years. Help us do better this year. We are aiming for at least 50% family participation!

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE ACHIEVE OUR GOAL?

We celebrate!! Each year we come up with new ways to celebrate meeting our Fundraising Goal! Last year, Principal McGuigan was duct taped to the wall! In years past, she has donned an inflatable unicorn suit to roam the halls, greet students, and visit classrooms. Some lucky students were able to throw “pies” in the faces of their favorite staff members. Have any fun ideas to celebrate reaching our goal? We’re always open to new ideas!
