Kent Gardens will again compete in the Virginia Science Olympiad (VASO) in 2024-25. We will kick off the season with a parent meeting at KG on Friday, September 14th at 8am-room to be announced.
NOVA Regional Tournament will be held in February, exact date TBA. Kent Gardens participates with a Division B (6–8th grade) team and a Division A (3-4th grade) team. The Division B teams participate in up to 23 events. The 6th grade team competes officially. The 3-4th grade team competes in 25 events as a practice team with more relaxed rules. 5th graders participate in Division B.
Parent Coordinator: We need at least 2 Parent Coordinators who schedule bi-monthly event progress meetings and provide information on the rules, date, logistics for the eventual regional tournament that takes place in February.
Parent Mentor: Each event has a parent who mentors each student pair of participants.
